Activity Report

The Activity Report feature allows you to generate a report showing your TalentHook usage. This report can be useful for a variety of different purposes:

  • To export a record of all searches, candidates, and tracking items
  • To analyze searching and recruiting practices
  • To help comply with OFCCP record-keeping obligations for Equal Opportunity Employment positions

To generate an Activity Report, select Activity Report... from the Tools menu.

Report Tab On the report tab, you select the date range and the jobs for which you want to generate a report. All Dates With this option, the reports will contain data pertaining to all available searches for the jobs selected. Period between _______ and _______ With this option, the reports will contain data pertaining only to the searches that were performed during the specified date range for the jobs selected. Data on the following jobs The tree is populated with jobs that have data available in the date range you have specified. Select the jobs for which you want the report generated.

! You must have History Preservation enabled for the jobs you have selected if you want the report to include data that has been deleted/purged from TalentHook. For instance, if you rejected and purged candidates for a job, and History Preservation was NOT enabled for that job, the data regarding those candidates is no longer available and thus will not be included on the report. The Activity Report is most useful with History Preservation enabled so that it includes data for items that have been deleted from TalentHook.
! There is an introductory demonstration available.

Data Items Tab

This tab allows you to specify which data elements to include on the report. For instance, maybe you only want to include the candidates' names and emails and nothing more. Or perhaps you don't want to include any details regarding the searches that returned the candidates. Every field included on the report can be controlled on this tab.

Options Tab This tab allows you to customize some of the options for the report generation. Report Structure Group Candidates Under - This option allows you to control the "structure" of the report by specifying how you want the candidates grouped. Do you want to view the candidates grouped together by the search that returned them? If so, selected Search from the drop down box. Or perhaps you want to view all the candidates returned for a job grouped together. If so, select Job from the dropdown box. Report Output File Format - TalentHook can export your activity report in one of two formats:
  • XML/XSL Pair - With this option, the Activity Report is generated in two parts. An XML file contains all the data for the report, and an XSL (StyleSheet) contains the information Internet Explorer needs to format and display the data. You can view the report in Internet Explorer (or another XML file viewer) by opening the XML file. Additionally, the XML file can be used to import the report's data into most programs such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access. If you send the report to someone be sure and include BOTH files,\ and instruct them to place both files in the same directory.
  • HTML - With this option, the Activity Report is generated as a single HTML file that can be viewed in any browser. The report looks the same as the XML/XSL version. The HTML file will be much larger in total file size than the XML option, but the ease of transmitting the single HTML file is an advantage.

Output File - Specify the file name and path you want for the generated activity report. The file extension will be changed automatically to match to selected file format for the report.
